Forging a component requires material to be heated to a critical temperature and compressed in a permanent die using a forging press to move the material into the desired profile. Forging yields the most desirable mechanical and physical properties as forces applied during forging force the material grain flow to follow that of the part which creates a stronger, longer-lasting product.
